    A Carbon Budget: Determine the total amount of greenhouse gases that can be emitted to control the global temperature rise to 1.5°C and far below 2°C.
    An Emissions Scenario: Determining the scale and timing of emission reductions.
    An allocation methodology: Determine how to allocate the carbon budget to each enterprise.

    SBTi's Common Carbon Reduction Target Setting Methods
    Currently, SBTi's carbon reduction targets can be categorized into two types: near-term emission reduction and long-term net zero, with the near-term being 5-10 years and the long-term being before 2050. When setting the near-term and long-term targets, with reference to the SBTi corporate net-zero emission standard, common reduction methods include absolute contraction, industry decarbonization, renewable energy, economic intensity and physical intensity.
    The CDP Carbon Disclosure Questionnaire includes whether enterprises adopt SBTi as one of the scoring items. In order to obtain higher scores from CDP, many enterprises in Taiwan have already responded to the questionnaire and committed to set up scientific-based carbon reduction targets, EPILEDS obtains SBTi qualification in 2023.
